WORSHIP
TIMES
Sunday School is out for the summer
Early Service at 8:15am
Traditional Service at 10:30am
We
welcome Rev Barry Vance, Princeton Seminary Intern Brett Hoover, and
Thalia Fleetwood to our summer staff. They will take turns leading
worship while Pastor Doug Friant is on sabbatical until the end of
August.
Bible Study
Every Tuesday at 10am
in the Lounge. All are welcome!
Thursday Evening Study of the
Gospels - Have you ever wondered, “Why do we
call these books gospels? Why are there four gospels? How is John
different from all the other gospels?” Get the answers to these
questions and more during this lively and interesting discussion led by
Brett Hoover. The studies are independent of one another, so even if
you missed the first week, there is still time to join. Open to
inquiring minds of all ages. We’ll meet again this Thurs, July 29
beginning with a light dinner at 6pm. Call the office by the Wed before
if you plan to attend.
A Time for Prayer and
Reflection
The sanctuary is open the last Thursday of every month from 6:30-7:30pm
for those seeking a quiet place for reflection. We
encourage you to take a few minutes to share in God’s peace and
rejuvenate your soul with music and candlelight.
Share Your Voice This Summer!
We are looking for folks who would like
to help with worship by occasionally leading the children’s sermon,
reading scripture, offering a prayer, or guiding announcements. If this
appeals to you, please add your name and contact info to the sign-up
sheet in back or downstairs.
Help Needed
The Missional Church
Team will again host a kids' corner in the public square in front of the
church during the Thurs, Aug 19 Hot Summer Nights festivities.
The last 'plunge ' was a huge success with both kids and the young
adults/parents we spoke with. Congregational help is
needed to make this event successful (plus, it's fun!). Call the office for more
information and ways to get involved.
Finding Your Spiritual Gifts
An Evening Experience with Pastor Jim Cuppett
August 15 & 16
Did you know that God has
created and designed us with a purpose in mind? Did you know we
are “wired” to care about some things more than others? Are you
aware that God has given you a specific passion and specific
spiritual gifts to competently accomplish ministry tasks? We also
have been designed with a personal style. When you know your
God-given passion, spiritual gifts, and personal style, then you’ll know
what you need to be both fruitful and fulfilled in your
life and ministry.
All interested members and
friends are encouraged to take part in this discovery beginning with an
ice cream social at 6pm on Sun, August 15. The group experience will
follow from 7-9pm. We’ll meet again on Mon, August 16 from 7-9pm. Both
sessions will be led by Pastor Jim Cuppett. Call the office to sign up!

We’re getting a new
picture
directory
& we need your help!

and Friday, September 16 and 17 from 2:30pm until 9pm and on
Saturday, September 18 from 10:30am-5pm.
Sign-ups to schedule sittings with the photographer will be held
each Sunday in August at both services. Beginning August 1st,
members may also schedule online at uuu.ucdir.com. Click on the
starburst and then type in ‘pa451 bedford’.
Anyone not able to arrange for a sitting may submit a personal photo
to Jess in the office by September 15. Please submit clear, good
quality photos. Digital versions can be emailed to
presby1786@embarqmail.com.Please
include a caption to identify members.
HELP!
In order to complete this project, 6 volunteers will be needed daily to
greet members arriving at the church for their scheduled appointments.
An additional 6 individuals will be needed to contact members who have
not scheduled sittings with the photographer. Universal Directory will
call to remind everyone who has scheduled a sitting.
If you would be willing to help out, call Jess in the office or fill out
a volunteer form located in the sanctuary.
